瑞奇．馬汀1971年12月24日生于波多黎各，6歲起開始接拍電視廣告，很快對(duì)表演產(chǎn)生濃厚興趣。12歲時(shí)，瑞奇-馬汀加入了少年偶像團(tuán)體Menudo，這是一支拉丁樂歷史上最受歡迎的組合。17歲的馬汀在離開Menudo后，決定放下明星身份，重新走入學(xué)校完成他最后的高中學(xué)業(yè)。畢業(yè)后，他毅然來到美國紐約。以個(gè)人姿態(tài)進(jìn)軍歌壇的瑞奇-馬汀，1991年推出了首張同名專輯，獲得巨大成功，并在全球許多國家掀起了一股拉丁樂狂潮。1994年，瑞奇-馬汀參演了電視連續(xù)劇《急診室的故事》，這部在美國ABC電視臺(tái)收視率頗高的肥皂劇使瑞奇的知名度再次得到了空前提高。1996年，讓瑞奇-馬汀走紅全球的專輯《A Medio Vivir》發(fā)行，其中收錄的歌曲呈現(xiàn)多元化風(fēng)貌，收錄有法國9周冠軍曲“Maria”。令瑞奇走向世界的歌曲“生命之杯”(La Copa De La Vida / The Cup Of Life)收錄在大碟《Vuelve》中，他以西班牙文唱出火熱的氣氛。
